DraftKings secures Arkansas sports betting license approval through Southland Casino Hotel

The Arkansas Racing Commission has approved DraftKings for licensure, clearing the company to proceed toward launching its online sportsbook in the state on behalf of Southland Casino Hotel, subject to final regulatory approvals.

The anticipated launch follows a market access agreement between DraftKings and Southland Casino Hotel. With Arkansas added to its operational map, DraftKings Sportsbook will become available to more than 2 million adults in the state. The company said the expansion increases its product coverage to 53% of the US population.

Upon launch, eligible Arkansas customers will be able to place wagers through DraftKings’ mobile sportsbook platform. Available betting options include same-game parlays, in-game wagering, special odds boosts, and more.

Customers will also have access to responsible gaming tools integrated within the platform.

Arkansas will become the 30th US state in which DraftKings operates regulated sports betting. The company also offers regulated sports wagering in Washington, DC, Ontario, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Last month, DraftKings began offering its online sportsbook to eligible users in Puerto Rico, extending digital wagering access across the island after opening a physical sportsbook at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino in November.

The mobile platform is limited to Puerto Rico residents. Individuals seeking to use the online sportsbook must first complete registration in person at the casino. After registering on-site, customers are able to access the full range of digital features.
