California's Jamul Casino Resort has appointed Marcus Lucero as Vice President of Casino Operations, adding an executive with more than 20 years of experience in the gaming sector.
In the position, Lucero will oversee the property's casino operations, including slots, table games, poker and player development. His responsibilities will include managing operational performance and revenue initiatives across those areas.
"I'm honored to join the exceptional team at Jamul Casino Resort during such an exciting period of growth," said Marcus. "The property has established itself as one of the premier gaming destinations in Southern California, and I look forward to working alongside the talented team to continue delivering outstanding experiences for our guests while supporting the long-term vision of the Tribe."
Lucero joins Jamul Casino Resort after serving as Vice President of Casino Operations at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, where he managed casino floor operations at the executive level.
Before that role, he held leadership positions at Soboba Casino Resort and Valley View Casino & Hotel. During his career in Tribal gaming, he has led casino operations, revenue management initiatives and guest service programs across multiple Southern California properties.
According to the resort, Lucero has delivered financial performance targets, managed gaming operations and led teams focused on guest satisfaction and employee engagement.
Lucero's appointment comes as Jamul Casino Resort builds on the launch of a recent hotel expansion, additional amenities, and industry recognition.
"We are thrilled to welcome Marcus to Jamul Casino Resort as our new Vice President of Casino Operations," said Mary Cheeks, President and General Manager. "Marcus brings a proven track record of operational excellence, strategic leadership and guest-focused innovation across all facets of the operations.”
“His depth of experience, commitment to team development and passion for creating exceptional guest experiences make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Cheeks.
“As we continue building upon our recent growth, industry recognition and achievement of AAA Four Diamond status, Marcus will play a key role in advancing our gaming operations, strengthening player engagement and supporting our vision of becoming Southern California's premier gaming and resort destination," she added.
The resort said Lucero's experience in casino management and Tribal gaming operations will support its ongoing operational and development plans.
