Caesars Entertainment is set to introduce a new chapter in Lake Tahoe’s hospitality and gaming sector with the launch of Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, a reimagined luxury resort emerging from the transformation of the long-standing Harveys Lake Tahoe.

The $160 million renovation project, already underway, is scheduled to begin unveiling its first phase this summer, with the official brand transition taking place on July 1, 2025.

According to Caesars Entertainment President and COO Anthony Carano, the renovation seeks to match Lake Tahoe’s natural allure with a bold, modern resort experience.

The property transformation has begun and will continue throughout 2026 with the all-new hotel tower, hotel lobby, stellar restaurants and the start of a completely reimagined casino coming online this summer for our guests to enjoy right away,” he said.

The project will pause during peak summer months and is expected to be fully completed by mid-2026.

The resort redesign, led by Marnell Companies, includes upgrades across the 1.6 million-square-foot property. Central to the renovation is the revitalized 88,000-square-foot casino floor, which will feature updated carpeting, furnishings, and high-tech displays, along with the introduction of new slot machines, a High Limit Room, and a dedicated World Series of Poker Room.

In addition to gaming, Caesars Republic will enhance guest accommodation with full remodels of all rooms in the Remus Tower and upgraded features in the Romulus Tower. Select suites will also offer butler service, elevating the luxury experience.

The redesigned lobby bar, Cleo’s Coffee and Cocktails, will transition from a daytime café to a nighttime lounge, adding to the property’s upscale dining and entertainment offerings, which already include WOLF by Vanderpump and Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN.

Karie Hall, SVP and General Manager of Harrah’s and Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, explaied the blend of heritage and innovation behind the transformation. “This transformation honors the storied history of Harveys while introducing modern amenities and elevated experiences that will redefine luxury in Lake Tahoe,” she said.

Across the street, Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, linked to Caesars Republic by an underground connector, is also undergoing upgrades, including enhancements to its Summit Suites and the recent debut of Brew Brothers, a craft beer and dining venue. Additional tech and facility improvements are in progress across both properties.

Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe follows the 2024 debut of Caesars Republic Scottsdale, marking the second location in the Caesars Republic portfolio. Originally founded in 1944, the Lake Tahoe property began as a modest café and has grown into the area’s largest casino.
