Which is the balance you can make of this 2011?
In general lines, it has been a positive year for Fournier. Our sales have grown despite Europe, one of our traditionally stronger markets, have decreased as a consequence of the financial crisis. At the end of 2010 we hoped the European economy would recover in 2011, but unfortunately it did not happen. The base of operators that use our products, specially cards, could be Fournier or Bee, has grown at an international level, specially in Latin America.
How have you seen the gaming industry in general in a year in which the economic crisis affected several international markets?
We have seen more active markets with a certain growth, such as Latin America and Asia, and others, such as Europe or US, which still seem to be in a lethargic phase. Fortunately, as it is a global company and we have our sales divided in many markets, the ones with the best performance have offset those with less growth.
Which has been, in your opinion, the main novelty of the year?
Within the gaming industry, the news that had most impact for us was no doubt the Monterrey attack. I would also remark the closure of casinos in Ecuador.
Which was, in your view, the most innovative product or service released this year?
I would personally highlight the step forward we have given as a company to set a complete offer with the aim to provide the operator of products and services, to maximize the security and profitability of live gaming. In our offer, we have the widers range of cards of the market, with a brand and a product adapted to every need. We also have pre-shuffled cards that increase game speed and, consequently, the profitability of the operator. Then, it is our Security Baccarat Shoe, an ideal tool to reinforce baccarat game in casinos. And in other product categories, I would remark the great response we have had with layouts Dura + defrom Fournier and Bee dices.
Which are the plans of your company for 2012?
For 2012, we want to keep on consolidating our position in the international markets besed in quality, security and service. The truth is that, at a personal level, what gratifies the most when we visit our customers is their esteem and acknowledge to the attention and service we bring. They value that we are always there, seeking for solutions to their needs and making their orders arrive in due time and manner.
How do you see 2012 for the gaming industry in general? Will it be similar to 2011? Do you think there will be a growth in the activity?
Our hope is that in 2012 there is a principle of recovery in the European economy. And besides, we believe that the gaming industry will keep on growing in Latin America and Asia. At a market level, we expect Mexico, once analyzed the situation of the industry after Monterrey attack, brings a step forward towards the regulation of live gaming.
