Forbes Italia and SiGMA Group have launched the Top 50 Regulated Gaming Italy initiative, aimed at recognizing individuals shaping the future of Italy’s regulated gaming industry amid increasing regulatory scrutiny and technological change.

The initiative, announced ahead of SiGMA World 2026 in Rome, is designed to spotlight professionals contributing to the sector’s structural development, regulatory alignment, and long-term sustainability rather than serving as a traditional industry ranking.

Italy’s regulated gaming market, one of the largest in Europe, continues to face evolving regulatory requirements, public oversight, and pressure to balance commercial growth with responsible gaming and compliance standards.

The Top 50 initiative focuses on four areas shaping the sector: regulation and compliance, technological innovation, responsible gaming, and industry research and communication.

The project highlights the role of legal experts, compliance specialists, and regulatory professionals in building the framework underpinning Italy’s gaming market, while also recognizing the growing importance of technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and advanced security infrastructure.

Responsible gaming professionals developing prevention strategies, monitoring systems, and early intervention tools are also being recognized as operators and regulators increase efforts to address gambling-related risks.

Academics, analysts, researchers, and media professionals are included for their role in shaping industry discourse and supporting informed decision-making in a heavily regulated environment.

The objective is to highlight individuals who contribute to the sector’s structural advancement and sustained long-term viability, the partners said.

SiGMA Group, founded by Eman Pulis, said the partnership with Forbes Italia reflects the need for closer collaboration between industry participants, technology providers, and regulators.

The group’s international conferences have increasingly positioned themselves as forums for policy and industry discussions beyond networking and commercial activity.

The Top 50 list is scheduled to be published several weeks before SiGMA World 2026, which will take place from Nov. 2 to Nov. 5 at Fiera Roma.

The event is expected to attract more than 30,000 delegates, over 1,000 exhibitors, and upwards of 550 speakers, bringing together operators, investors, and institutions from across the global gaming industry.

The list is intended to serve as a guide to the Italian gaming market and offer insight into the sector’s future direction, the parties said. The initiative strives to provide insight into the future direction of the sector, rather than simply documenting its current state.
