Soft2Bet has launched MEGA Shoot, a football-themed gamification engine designed for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, aiming to boost player engagement and retention across its sportsbook brands.
The feature is being rolled out across selected Soft2Bet-operated brands, including Betinia, Swiper, Campobet, ToonieBet, and Elabet, and will be available in multiple regulated markets such as Denmark, Greece, Mexico, New Jersey, Ontario, Romania, and other regions across Canada.
The launch comes in time for the largest World Cup to date, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Industry forecasts suggest that wagering activity in the US alone could rival or exceed Super Bowl levels, extending engagement opportunities for sportsbooks throughout the month-long tournament.
MEGA Shoot is built around a best-of-five penalty shootout simulation. Players alternate between striker and goalkeeper roles, choosing where to shoot and where to defend in head-to-head matchups. Each round results in either a goal or a save, with players switching roles until the shootout concludes.
Soft2Bet reported early performance metrics showing 31.9% engagement among active users across selected brands, while 71.2% of players who try MEGA Shoot return for at least one additional match.
“The World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July, so retention has to work across the full tournament calendar,” Yoel Zuckerberg, Chief Product Officer at Soft2Bet, said. “MEGA Shoot gives operators a football game that players can understand quickly, with head-to-head competition tied to the sport they already follow.”
He added that early engagement metrics suggest strong potential for tournament-driven gamification, highlighting both engagement and repeat-play rates.
MEGA Shoot is part of Soft2Bet’s broader MEGA gamification portfolio aimed at increasing retention during major sporting events.
