Under the terms of the extension, the NLCB has the option to extend the term an additional 12 months beyond the awarded 18-month contract extension, which offers the NLCB the ability to increase the contract extension period to 30 months.
“For over 18 years, the NLCB has been an important and valued customer to Gtech,” said its President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “We are pleased to continue to provide the NLCB with online lottery services through the contract extension period and beyond. Gtech has been a long-term investor in the country’s non-energy sector, and we are committed to further contributing to the country’s economic and social development and to serving the people of Trinidad and Tobago.”
National Lotteries Control Board Chairman Mitra Mahabir said, “We are pleased to have reached an agreement to extend the current contract with Gtech to provide lottery services to the NLCB. This period will allow the NLCB and Gtech to work together to enhance the lottery offering to NLCB customers.”
During the 18-month contract extension period, Gtech will remain the full-service lottery provider to the NLCB. The company will continue to supply online technology and a full range of support services including, central computer system maintenance; terminal installation and maintenance; communications management; field service; and marketing support.
Gtech will also maintain management of the distribution, accounting, and validation of the Lottery’s instant-ticket business.
