The American Gaming Association announced a list of six leaders who have distinguished themselves through significant contributions to the gaming industry, including pioneers in commercial and tribal gaming, gaming regulation, casino technology and sports betting. The American Gaming Association announced Tuesday the Gaming Hall of Game classes of 2020 and 2021, recognizing leaders who have distinguished themselves through significant contributions to the gaming industry. The honorees include pioneers in commercial and tribal gaming, gaming regulation and casino technology, and sports betting.

“Each of these pioneers has left a unique, indelible mark on our industry,” said AGA President and CEO Bill Miller. “Under their leadership, tribal gaming has boomed, professional sports leagues have embraced sports betting, and the gaming industry is thriving despite the challenges we’ve faced over the past year and a half.”

Established in 1989, the Gaming Hall of Fame honors on annual basis leaders across the gaming industry. The selection is conducted by an independent panel of gaming executives. Last year, the selection and event were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a result, both the Class of 2020 and 2021 will be honored during the invitation-only Chairman’s Reception featuring the Gaming Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Global Gaming Expo.

“This year’s honorees have been key players in proving that gaming is a world-class entertainment experience,” added Aristocrat Technologies CEO and AGA Chairman of the Board Trevor Croker. “We’re proud to recognize them and the important role they’ve played shaping gaming into the dynamic industry it is today.”

This year will see six new inductees, three for each class. Corresponding to the 2020 class, the honorees include James R. Maida, President and CEO, Gaming Laboratories International; Jeffrey A. Silver, Of Counsel, Dickinson Wright PLLC; and Dr. Mark Yoseloff, Retired Chairman, CEO, Shuffle Master, Inc and Founder, UNLV Center for Gaming Innovation.

Maida grew GLI from a simple idea into an international company, now serving the needs of the gaming industry and regulators alike while helping lead the expansion of legal gaming in jurisdictions across the world.

Dickinson Wright’s Jeffrey A. Silver has helped transform gaming and Las Vegas as a member of the Nevada GCB, and as a visionary executive at various Las Vegas casino resorts. He is an internationally recognized lawyer and trusted advisor to gaming companies.

Dr. Mark Yoseloff’s innovations revolutionized casino table games as CEO of Shuffle, and now inspires the next generation of gaming as the founder of the UNLV’s Center for Gaming Innovation.

The 2021 class features Knute Knudson, Jr., Vice President of Global Business Development and Tribal Ambassador, IGT; Jeremy M. Jacobs, Chairman, Delaware North; Jim Shore, General Counsel, Seminole Tribe of Florida.

Knute Knudson, Jr. has dedicated his career to tribal gaming, helping hundreds of tribes establish and expand their tribal gaming operations across the U.S.

Delaware North’s Chairman Jeremy M. Jacobs is a pioneer of gaming and hospitality, transforming DN into a global brand. As the owner of the Boston Bruins, he has helped lead the NHL’s embrace of legal sports betting.

Seminole Tribe of Florida General Counsel Jim Shore’s career has defined the Florida gaming industry, and since the 1980s, he has served as the tribe’s general counsel, credited with helping make its gaming ventures the success they are today.
