Now, Senator Randolfe Rodrigues (RED-AP) has proposed another bill for discussion before the whole Senate, but it is against gambling legalization in Brazil. However, for Randolfe’s bill to be discussed, at least 10 percent of the members of the Senate must submit an application. After that, they have to obtain the support of the majority. Only then can the bill be included in the agenda.
"We are here to provide a regulatory framework for the gaming industry," Lira said during his speech. He assured those who were strongly opposed to gambling legalization that many of their concerns would be solved at a later stage, during the implementation of the law. "I do not understand why legalization generates fear" - he said and added, "We just want to regulate an economic activity."
