Spectrum Gaming Group and Spectrum Gaming Capital will present a webinar, hosted by Clarion Events, to discuss the critically important issue of fantasy sports regulation.

The online presentation will be held at 11am on Thursday, November 5. Presented by Spectrum, the independent gaming research firm has decades of international experience in the relevant fields of gaming regulation and compliance, anti-money-laundering, corporate due diligence and finance, as well as in identifying and analysing trends that impact land-based and online gaming around the world.

Webinar speakers will be Fredric Gushin, Spectrum Gaming Managing Director; Timothy Lowry, DLA Piper Partner; Adam Steinberg, Spectrum Gaming Capital SVP; and Seth Young, Star Fantasy Leagues COO.

“Rapid growth and public acceptance of daily fantasy sports as an entertainment activity has excited the public and drawn increased scrutiny from casino operators and state and federal lawmakers. Our goal with this webinar is to address the critical issues of integrity and transparency facing the industry today,” remarked Steinberg.

"Attendees for this webinar will gain numerous insights into the role of regulation, and how to establish necessary controls,” noted Gushin.

The Daily Fantasy Sports sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years. It generated about $1bn entry fees in 2014 and is expected to reach $2.5bn in 2015. Some estimates place entry fees at $18bn by 2020. In 2013, only 8pc of all fantasy sports participants played daily fantasy sports exclusively, but in 2015 almost 20pc of players play daily fantasy exclusively, according to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association.

Recent high-profile missteps have created the perception among lawmakers, investors and players of employee abuses and impropriety. As such, there has been a groundswell of media and legislative calls for regulations and laws. The Spectrum Gaming and Clarion webinar will address the issues and highlight best practices to regain the trust of players and lawmakers.
