Carrasco Nobile, the consortium leaded by Codere Group, was in charge of the refurbishment work of an exceptional classic building, constructed by French Architects Dunant and Mallet in 1912. To conclude the work, it has been necessary to count with the presence of a group of expert restorers of more than 100 people that have given back the splendor and the “art de vivre” to this building, declared National Patrimony of Uruguay.
The result, Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco & Spa, is a complex comprised by a 116-room hotel and the highest international level in services, which employs mure than 170 people and is operated by Frenc company Sofitel, together with a state-of-the-art casino, with 3,000 sqm dedicated to leisure and entertainment, located in the two inferior levels of the building. It counts with 23 casino tables, around 400 game terminals and employs more than 280 people.
The President of Codere Group, José Antonio Martínez Sampedro, remarked: “The combination of classicism and modernity that this building represents. It is the result of a process of collaboration and respect among the company, the authorities and the community. It has training of Uruguayan youngsters for the hotel and the activity of local providers.”
Then, Sofitel Director of Operations for Latin America, Nagi Naoufal, said the following: “When we were called to carry out the hostelling operation in this place, we do not doubt an instant. We will work so every guest enjoys the harmonic balance between the pleasure of feeling at home and the exquisit sensations of feeling in a place like this.”
