(UK, exclusive Executive VP, Sales and Marketing Transact Technologies, Tracey Chernay, gave her opinion on recent ICE 2013 and the response that the firm received by visitors. She then anticipated future plans: “Install all the Epicentral systems that we have sold and scheduled for the first half and prioritize the second half installs planned.”


hat's your opinion about ICE 2013? Was the new venue convenient for you?
ICE 2013 was all about change for us. Change to the new venue and change in the new offerings we had to show the ICE attendees. Change in the way that casinos can now market to their players with TransAct’s Epicentral Print System – marketing directly to the player at the slot machines through a personalized message or intelligent offer – while the player is playing. Compared to traditional marketing to the players’ mailboxes after the player has come and gone, we demonstrated at ICE how Epicentral provides the casino with a way to change the way that they communicate with their players and change the way that comps and rewards can be delivered to their players – in real time.

The new venue was exciting and worked out quite well for us with many opportunities to meet with clients at the show and many new venues for customer entertainment after the show. Going into ICE 2013, I have to admit I was a bit nostalgic about our time at Earle’s Court but as the week progressed I found we were all quite adaptable to the change!

What was the visitors’ response to the products you presented?
We had a tremendous response with many Epicentral demonstrations that were pre-scheduled for ICE and a very robust walk-up demonstration schedule as well. With the success of Epicentral installations in the US and now our planned installation with the casinos in the Spielbanken Baden-Württembergische group in Germany, Epicentral has gained a tremendous amount of awareness in a short period of time.

Of course, we also had many quality meetings with the various European OEMs who have integrated the Epic 950 ticket printer and the Epic 880 roll printer into their games as well as new manufacturers looking for a printer to fit into their games. It all starts with choosing the right Epic printer!

Where did most of your clients and visitors come from?
We had visitors from all over Europe, Asia, Australia, and the United States with most of the customers coming from Europe. Our distributor, Eurocoin, has an excellent long-term presence established with customers all over Europe and the Eurocoin stand is always a destination point each year for many of these customers.

What will be your show's calendar for the rest of the year?
TransAct has an aggressive tradeshow calendar laid out for the balance of the year with participation in all of the major gaming shows worldwide. We will be featuring our Epicentral Print System at each of the shows with demonstrations and published results from each of the casinos that have chosen to implement Epicentral.

What will be your next steps?
Install all the Epicentral systems that we have sold and scheduled for the first half and prioritize the second half installs planned. Share the results that the casinos are experiencing with Epicentral. We are thrilled with the response from casinos for our system and we are pleased to be going live with more systems each month.
