SBC Summit 2025 will shine a spotlight on Africa’s fast-growing gambling industry with a dedicated conference track on Tuesday, 16 September, at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL).

As part of the event’s new Emerging Markets stage, the Africa-focused sessions will deliver practical insights into the continent’s key markets, regulatory developments, and expansion opportunities. The track will feature five targeted sessions covering a range of regions from established markets like South Africa and Nigeria to fast-emerging territories such as Ghana and Tanzania.

Industry leaders will offer actionable strategies for navigating regulations, engaging local communities, and leveraging mobile technology to drive growth.

“Africa isn’t just one of the most exciting markets in gaming—it’s one of the most misunderstood,” said Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC. “That’s why this track matters. We’re bringing together the people who know the region inside out, and creating a space for honest, practical conversations.”

The program opens with “Africa Leaders Panel: An Ever-Expanding Horizon,” featuring senior executives from 888AFRICA, Bonmoja, Super Group, and Kingmakers, moderated by the Chairman of Meridianbet. The panel will explore how operators can build trust with regulators, form strong community connections, and identify the best entry points into both established and emerging markets.

The session “A Continent on the Move: Sportsbook Technology in Africa” will highlight how mobile-first platforms are fueling sports betting growth. With over 70% of Africans owning smartphones and mobile payments integrated into daily life, speakers from Bonmoja, Kwiff, and Growe will examine how this tech ecosystem is enhancing user engagement and creating new revenue streams.

Another key panel, “Regulating Africa: Putting the Player First,” will feature regulatory leaders from Nigeria, South Africa, and Botswana discussing how compliance frameworks are evolving to prioritize player protection and responsible development.

The session “Marketing to Africa: No More One-Size-Fits-All” will focus on how operators can create regionally relevant campaigns that resonate across the continent’s culturally diverse audience. Executives from Leverage, Logifuture, Betwinner Affiliates, and E2 Communications, along with moderator Lois Bright, will share their approaches to adapting user experiences, leveraging data, and embracing cultural nuance.

The Africa-focused day is part of the broader Emerging Markets track at SBC Summit 2025, which will also feature dedicated sessions on Eurasia and the Middle East on Wednesday, 17 September, and Asia on Thursday, 18 September.

The Emerging Markets stage runs alongside the Global Markets track, which covers North America, Western Europe, and Latin America across all three days of the summit.

Tickets are available in three tiers: VIP Event Pass, Expo+ Pass, and Expo Only Pass, with the latter not granting access to conference sessions.
