Licenses not to be renewed till they move off shore into Aguada bay

Goa wants offshore casinos to stay away from Mandovi

(India).- Goa government said it does not support offshore casinos to anchor in the Mandovi River. "They were asked to move from the Mandovi River as they are not permitted to park there," Goa Ports Minister Fransisco Pacheco told PTI.

H

e said that the department does not intend to renew their licenses till they move off shore into Aguada bay. "We never gave them the permission to park in the Mandovi river. The permission is to ply in the port jurisdiction," Pacheco said.

The Goa Bench of Bombay high court has asked to maintain status quo on the issue till further orders.
