The American Gaming Association has officially opened nominations for the 2026 class of the Gaming Hall of Fame, marking over 30 years of honoring influential figures who have shaped the gaming industry.

Each year, the Hall of Fame recognizes executives and pioneers whose work has left a lasting impact across the sector. An independent panel of industry leaders will review submissions, evaluating candidates based on career achievements, community involvement, and contributions that have driven innovation within the industry.

Criteria and submission process

To be considered, nominees must demonstrate a strong track record of advancing the gaming sector, alongside meaningful contributions beyond business, including civic, charitable, or cultural initiatives. Innovation is also a key factor, with candidates expected to have introduced ideas or leadership that moved the industry forward in a lasting way.

Submissions must include the nominee’s full name, mailing address, and email address, as well as a written statement of up to 500 words outlining why the individual deserves induction. The deadline to submit nominations is May 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.

A legacy of industry recognition

The Gaming Hall of Fame continues to serve as a benchmark for excellence across both land-based and online gaming. In 2025, the Hall inducted three figures representing different corners of the industry.

David Berman, Co-Head of Macquarie Capital, was recognized for his role in major gaming-related investments and advisory work, helping shape high-level financial strategies across the sector.

Ann Simmons Nicholson, Founder and CEO of The Simmons Group, was honored for her long-standing influence in executive search and leadership development within gaming, playing a key role in placing and mentoring top industry talent.

Charles Lombardo, former Senior Vice President of Gaming Operations at Seminole Hard Rock Gaming, was acknowledged for his operational leadership and decades of experience overseeing casino operations at one of the most prominent gaming operators in the United States.

The 2026 class will be notified ahead of the official announcement, which is expected to take place in summer 2026.
