Bede Gaming, part of the German Merkur Group, has appointed Andrew Humphreys as Chief Product Engineering Officer.
Humphreys, a 16-year veteran of the company, brings deep experience in software engineering, end-to-end solutions, and player experience.
In his new role, he will oversee delivery of products and features across the platform, including player account management, engagement tools, and web and app front-ends.
Humphreys started at Bede as a front-end developer and solution architect, rising through leadership roles, most recently serving as Head of Product Engineering. He has led product and technical solutions, roadmap development, and a performance-focused engineering culture.
Colin Cole-Johnson, Bede Chief Executive Officer, welcomed Humphreys to the Executive team, noting that he has already demonstrated exemplary leadership and strategic thinking in managing Bede’s product development workstreams. "Andrew has a keen eye for measurement, optimisation and continuous improvement that I'm sure will take our product engineering functions from strength to strength,” he said.
Humphreys described the promotion as an exciting step forward in his career and one of many highlights during his time at Bede. “As an engineering leader, I aspire to bridge the gap between our customers and our development teams," he said. "By fostering these relationships, we have delivered cross-functional, end-to-end solutions to an exceptional standard.”
The new role comes as COO Paul Dinning prepares to retire at the end of 2025 after nine years with the company.
