Casino Kam Pek Paradise, one of Macau’s remaining satellite casinos operating under the licence of SJM Resorts Ltd, will cease gaming operations at 23:59 on 1 December 2025, its operator announced, as the city completes the phase-out of legacy satellite casino arrangements by the end of this year.

The downtown property, run by Paradise Entertainment Ltd and opened in December 2007, spans 200,000 square feet and has been marketed as the world’s first “e-casino”. It is among the last three satellite venues scheduled to close as Macau transitions to a new regulatory framework that requires satellite casinos to be fully integrated with concessionaires by 31 December 2025.

SJM said all local employees currently hired by the company will remain employed and be reassigned to other SJM-operated casinos. Locals working at Kam Pek but not directly employed by SJM will be invited to apply for vacancies, with “necessary support” provided according to the “actual situation”.

The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) said it is working closely with the Labour Affairs Bureau on the relocation of the 584 staff based at the property.

SJM said in a press release: “All gaming tables and gaming machines currently operating at the location will be redeployed to other self-promoted casinos of the company” after the shutdown. Customers holding chips, deposits or cash rebates may redeem them at SJM casinos starting 2 December 2025, with the company pledging that "all customer entitlements are duly honoured."

Paradise Entertainment reported HK$382.6 million ($49.1 million) in revenue from Kam Pek in the first half of 2025, up from HK$356.5 million a year earlier and accounting for more than 75% of the group’s total revenue in the period.

The closure comes as several SJM-licensed satellite casinos wind down operations. Casino Ponte 16 is set to close on 28 November, while Casino Fortuna will shut on 10 December. Only Casino L’Arc is slated to be absorbed into SJM’s core operations, with SJM Holdings recently agreeing to pay HKD1.75 billion to acquire L’Arc Hotel.
