iGaming content provider Play’n GO has introduced Static Nightmare Abyssways, a six-reel video slot that draws on retro technology and suburban horror themes, expanding the company’s growing portfolio of narrative-driven titles.
The release features Play’n GO’s ABYSSWAYS Free Spins mechanic and an expanding reel system designed to increase possible combinations during gameplay. Scatters in the game extend the reel height up to six rows, while Wild symbols can expand, hold, and move horizontally between spins. During Free Spins, marked symbols drop away as new rows rise.
The developer said the game’s setting, a neon-lit cul-de-sac filled with flickering CRT screens, cassette players, and computer terminals, was built to evoke 1980s suburbia and the sense of unease associated with that era’s analog technology.
Magnus Wallentin, Games Ambassador at Play’n GO, said: “Static Nightmare Abyssways taps into that late-night channel-surfing dread, then turns it into momentum. Expanding reels, ABYSSWAYS Free Spins, and those restless Wilds keep the signal alive – once you lock on, it's hard to look away.”
Play’n GO said the title’s mechanics were designed to create steady tension through shifting reels and continuous motion rather than through conventional bonus rounds. The company has continued to release new games regularly this year across a variety of genres and themes aimed at both casual and core slot players.
