Aristocrat Leisure Limited has announced an agreement to acquire Awager Ltd, a company specializing in live slot streaming technology, from funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. The purchase price has not been disclosed and remains subject to regulatory pre-approvals before completion.
Awager operates in the regulated live slot streaming segment, which allows players to participate in real-time casino-style gameplay via digital platforms. The company provides gaming operators with an interactive channel to engage online audiences, using third-party content and exclusive distribution agreements with several major iGaming platforms.
Headquartered in Israel, Awager employs around 75 people across Israel, Eastern Europe, and the United States. The company has established a strong foothold in the U.S. market and is seen as a leading player in the emerging live slot streaming space. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months.
For Aristocrat, the acquisition marks another step in its broader strategy to expand into the digital and online gaming sectors. The integration of Awager’s technology and market presence is expected to enhance Aristocrat’s distribution network and strengthen its content offering in the United States.
The deal follows a series of strategic moves by Aristocrat in recent months. In June, its interactive division entered a six-year partnership with the Michigan Lottery. In September, the company announced an exclusive slot area collaboration with the Plaza Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Aristocrat has also made key leadership appointments, including Dylan Slaney as Interactive CEO and Michael Daly as Senior Vice President.
Awager’s technology is designed to bridge the gap between land-based and online casino play, offering a unified experience that differs from traditional iGaming products. Financial advisers for the transaction included UBS for Aristocrat and Moelis & Company LLC for Oaktree.
Aristocrat shares were trading at AU$68.95 ($45.45) at 16:10 p.m. BST, a decline of 1.32% from the day’s opening. The announcement came shortly after Aristocrat won three awards at the Global Gaming Awards Americas.
