Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and Valley Forge Casino Resort led Pennsylvania’s gaming market in August 2025, helping drive statewide revenue to $582.3 million, up 14.15% from the same month last year, the Gaming Control Board reported.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National generated $101.3 million, up 15.49% from August 2024. Valley Forge Casino Resort followed with $98.7 million, a 39.32% increase. Parx Casino placed third with $58.2 million, rising 8.47% year over year.
Other property-level changes included Rivers Casino Philadelphia with $57 million, up 12.23%, Wind Creek Bethlehem with $50.1 million, up 1.41%, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh with $30.5 million, which remained flat from last year. Presque Isle Downs and Casino posted $14.1 million, up 44.57%, while Hollywood Casino York reported $12.4 million, a 43.67% increase. Live! Casino Philadelphia reported $24.2 million, down 10.69%.
Retail slot machines generated $216.6 million, a 2.6% increase from August 2024. The number of slot machines in operation declined slightly to 24,332 from 24,595 last year.
Table games brought in $81.1 million, nearly unchanged from $81.0 million in August 2024.
Internet casino games recorded $231.2 million in revenue, up 25.86% from $183.7 million a year earlier. Slot play accounted for $179.3 million, table games for $49.4 million, and poker for $2.5 million.
Sports wagering revenue was $49.2 million, a 63.82% increase from August 2024, with a total handle of $515.4 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort led the category with $18.8 million, followed by Hollywood Casino at the Meadows with $12.3 million and Hollywood Casino York with $3.7 million.
Video gaming terminals (VGT) generated $3.6 million, down 2.44% from last year. Fantasy contests added $664,758, up 2.58%. DraftKings led fantasy operators with $514,000, followed by FanDuel with $75,000.
Tax revenue from all gaming and fantasy contests in August totaled $238.5 million. By segment, slots contributed $105.3 million, internet gaming $103.9 million, table games $12.9 million, and sports wagering $14.6 million. VGTs accounted for $1.8 million, while fantasy contests produced $88,915.
The PGCB regulates 17 land-based casinos in Pennsylvania, along with online gaming, sports wagering, VGTs at qualified truck stops, and fantasy contests. Combined regulated gaming activities generated $2.8 billion in tax revenue for the state during the 2024–25 fiscal year.
