Brazil’s online gaming industry stepped into a new regulated era at the start of 2025, instantly positioning the country as one of the most promising markets worldwide. Evolution wasted no time, becoming the first licensed supplier on day one and opening its debut live casino studio in São Paulo in July. The move signals both confidence in Brazil’s potential and a commitment to shaping the market from the ground up.
From native Portuguese-speaking Blackjack tables to tailored global titles, Evolution has made localisation central to its strategy. With Brazil at the core of its LatAm roadmap, the company is betting big on live dealer content while also giving operators new tools like Dream Creator to design unique RNG titles.
In this conversation with Yogonet, Renata Henriques, Head of Region Brazil at Evolution, shares insights into why Brazil matters so much for the company's growth story and its wider plans for the region.
Why was now the right time to launch Evolution’s first live casino studio in Brazil, and what made São Paulo the right fit?
Brazil entered a new regulated era for online gaming at the start of 2025, and Evolution is always at the forefront of new market openings. São Paulo was the logical choice: it is the country’s financial hub, offers the infrastructure for advanced tech operations, and sits at the centre of a strong talent pool and business network. Opening allows us to align with regulation and meet operator and player demand without delay.
You were the first licensed supplier in Brazil on day one of the new regulation. How important was that early-mover advantage for Evolution’s positioning in Brazil? What have you learned from early player engagement or operator feedback?
Securing the first supplier license gave Evolution a clear competitive edge. It enabled early partnerships, set rigorous compliance benchmarks, and established the company as a trusted partner for operators.
Feedback has been positive, with operators valuing our fully-regulated content. Early player data shows strong demand for localised experiences and premium live titles, which is evidence of Brazil’s appetite for high-quality, top-tier entertainment.

The new studio launched with native Portuguese-speaking Blackjack tables and customised global titles. How did you approach content localisation for the Brazilian market?
Localisation was central from the outset. Evolution introduced Portuguese-speaking dealers for Blackjack—one of Brazil’s most popular games—and adapted global titles to meet local regulatory and cultural standards.
The São Paulo studio matches the technology and flexibility of Evolution’s global network and is designed to expand rapidly in step with market demand and operator requirements.
This launch marks a major step in Evolution’s LatAm roadmap. How does Brazil fit into your overall growth strategy for the region? What other Latin American markets are you prioritising for expansion, especially as regulatory landscapes evolve?
Brazil is the cornerstone of Evolution’s Latin American strategy. It is the region’s largest market and among the most dynamic worldwide. Investment here signals a long-term commitment to growth.
Beyond Brazil, Evolution is closely monitoring Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and other emerging regulated markets across the continent. Each presents distinct opportunities, but Brazil’s scale and regulatory momentum make it the central pillar of Evolution’s regional plan.
What have been the biggest challenges in scaling operations across such a rapidly changing region like Latin America? And how do you see the role of localised live dealer content evolving in the region, especially compared to RNG or slot-based products?
The biggest challenge is that regulation, culture, player habits, and infrastructure differ sharply across regions on the continent. This makes focus on localised live dealer content essential. Online video slots remain the dominant product in terms of volume and engagement, and they will continue to drive growth. Live dealer titles, however, offer qualities that resonate strongly in Latin America—trust, interaction, and authenticity.
Our localised live dealer portfolio complements slots and RNG games, and Evolution expects the segment to grow quickly as players embrace it and operators expand their localised live offerings.
At the same time, there has been a strong uptake of Evolution’s Dream Creator. Through this innovative tool, Evolution empowers local operators to design their own fully-customised, thematically-branded RNG online video slots tailored to their players. By factoring in cultural preferences, seasonal events, and local trends, operators can deliver unique, engaging experiences with production turnarounds in just a few weeks.
How do you see Evolution’s role evolving as Brazil’s iGaming sector matures? While public H1 figures confirm a rapid expansion of the country’s online betting sector, we are also seeing new debates over the future structure of gambling regulation, including around taxation and advertisement restrictions. Where do you see Brazil headed?
Evolution sees its role as a long-term partner in shaping a sustainable and responsible Brazilian market. Regulation will continue to evolve, with taxation and advertising at the centre of industry and public dialogue.
The fundamentals remain strong: demand is high, and a regulated framework creates stability and growth opportunities. Brazil is on track to become one of the world’s largest and most dynamic iGaming markets, and Evolution intends to support operators and players throughout that process.
