Fanatics and ESPN BET will open retail sportsbooks at Missouri’s four highest-grossing casinos — Ameristar St. Charles, River City Casino, Hollywood Casino, and Ameristar Kansas City — on December 1, when legal sports betting launches in the state.
The two Ameristar casinos, managed by Boyd Gaming, will feature Fanatics sportsbooks and online gaming, while PENN-operated River City and Hollywood casinos will host ESPN BET sportsbooks. Combined, the four casinos generated more revenue in the 2025 fiscal year than the state’s remaining nine casinos.
Additional retail sportsbooks are set to open at Caesars’ Harrah’s Kansas City and Horseshoe St. Louis, PENN’s Argosy Riverside Casino, and BetMGM’s Century Casino Cape Girardeau, bringing the total number of retail sportsbooks in Missouri to eight when legal wagering begins.
Online sports betting is expected to dominate the market. DraftKings and Circa received untethered licenses allowing them to operate without partnering with a Missouri casino, while FanDuel is partnering with MLS club St. Louis CITY SC, and bet365 with MLB’s St. Louis Cardinals. Operators expect DraftKings and FanDuel to rank as the state’s top two sportsbooks by market share.
Bettors can begin depositing funds from November 17, two weeks ahead of the statewide go-live date.
Missouri’s top casinos are concentrated in the St. Louis region, except for Ameristar Kansas City. Ameristar St. Charles is in St. Charles County, the state’s highest-income county, while River City and Hollywood casinos are in St. Louis County, ranked fifth by median income.
