The Pascua Yaqui Tribe has unveiled the name of its upcoming casino property along Interstate 10. The property at 1055 W. Grant Road will be called Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa’am, setting it apart from the flagship Casino Del Sol on Valencia Road.
“Choosing Vahi Taa'am reflects the culture, language, and vision of the Tribe," said Amanda Lomayesva, interim CEO of Casino Del Sol. "It symbolizes light and speaks to a bright future for our team members, guests, and the greater Tucson community.”
Vahi Taa’am means “Three Suns” in Yoeme (the language of the Pascua Yaqui people) and serves as a location descriptor alongside the official name, which will be Casino Del Sol. Pronounced vah-hee tah-ahm, the descriptor is set to help maintain clarity and consistency in communications.
Scheduled to open in early 2027, the new property is expected to create 500 jobs and enhance Southern Arizona’s economic footprint while serving as a hub for entertainment and hospitality, tribal officials said.
