PENN Entertainment has appointed former Louisiana Gaming Control Board Chair Ronnie Jones as an independent, non-director member of the company’s Compliance Committee. The appointment, approved by PENN’s Board of Directors, brings a seasoned regulatory voice to the committee responsible for overseeing the company’s adherence to gaming laws and ethical standards.
“Ronnie is a well-respected leader in the regulated gaming space, and with his background and experience we’re pleased to add him as an independent member of our Compliance Committee,” said Jay Snowden, CEO and President of PENN Entertainment.
“Ronnie’s wealth of industry experience will be an asset to the important work of the committee, which is central to our longstanding commitment to gaming industry compliance and integrity.”
Jones served as Chair of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) from 2013 until 2020, following more than three decades with the Louisiana State Police. His public service career in the state spanned 45 years.
During his tenure at the LGCB, Jones oversaw regulatory compliance and operational integrity for a wide-ranging gaming portfolio, including 15 riverboat casinos, a land-based casino, four racetrack slot venues, and over 2,000 licensed video poker locations.
His leadership at the LGCB also played a pivotal role in preparing the state for the eventual legalization of sports betting, which was enacted in 2022. In recognition of his contributions to regulatory oversight, Jones was named North American Regulator of the Year in 2017 by the International Masters of Gaming Law.
The Compliance Committee at PENN is chaired by independent non-director Thomas N. Auriemma and also includes board members Johnny Hartnett and Carlos Ruisanchez, both of whom joined the Board recently. The committee plays a key role in monitoring and guiding the company’s compliance with gaming regulations across its jurisdictions.
