Arizona’s sports betting handle rose to $700 million in February 2025, marking a 9.8% increase compared to the same month in 2024, according to data released by the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG).
The state collected approximately $4 million in privilege fees, while adjusted gross event wagering receipts before free bet deductions totalled $64.6 million. Of that, online wagering accounted for the vast majority, with $64.6 million, while retail receipts totalled just $76,680.
Despite the year-on-year growth, the state’s all-time high monthly handle remains $897.6 million, recorded in November 2024.
The ADG recently announced that it had issued cease-and-desist orders to multiple unlicensed gambling operators, both within the U.S. and abroad, for illegally offering gaming services to Arizona residents.
These operators allegedly offered access to slot-style casino games, sweepstakes platforms, sports wagering, horse race betting, and peer-to-peer wagering exchanges, all without state authorization.
“These operations are not licensed by the state and fail to meet Arizona’s strict regulatory requirements, thereby posing significant consumer protection and financial risks to Arizonans,” the ADG said in a statement.
