Gaming test lab and product certification consultancy BMM Testlabs is supporting STEM education for Tribal students with a paid summer internship program. The program is powered through BMM's Next Generation Initiative and the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES).

This partnership between BMM and AISES promotes opportunities for indigenous students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs to work in an independent gaming laboratory and receive hands-on experience alongside BMM's team of expert test engineers.

It is part of BMM’s Next Generation initiative, which supports youth and young adults through partnerships with non-profit organizations focused on advancing educational opportunities and improving public health.

“We have supported AISES through a summer internship program now for several years, and we have found it to be a great experience for BMM and for the students. We’re focused on investing in Tribal gaming’s future, and our AISES interns are an important part of that commitment,” Travis Foley, BMM’s Chief Government and Regulatory Officer, said.

"We hope the real-world experience they get and the new skills they learn at BMM paves the way for potential career opportunities and instills a greater appreciation for STEM professions."

"I am drawn to BMM's mission and manner of testing, which ensures the integrity and fairness of the game,” said BMM’s 2024 summer intern Daniel Gallardo, a descendant of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, who is pursuing an undergraduate degree from Crown College in Minnesota, said.

"BMM's testing process and the use of the BOAT online approval system resonates with my long-term career aspirations of working for my tribe in the gaming industry. I am enthusiastic about contributing to BMM and am eager for the experience to learn more from the team and expand my skills."

The internship program at BMM Testlabs will last for 10 weeks, beginning on June 3.
