In September, New York's mobile sports betting revenue reached an all-time high of $165.6 million, with the total handle hitting a six-month peak of $1.76 billion.

This significant surge in revenue, up 15.6% from $143.3 million in September 2022 and 68.1% higher than August's $98.5 million, reflects the growing popularity of mobile sports betting in the state, according to data released by the New York State Gaming Commission.

Compared to the previous year, handle also demonstrated growth, with a total of $1.76 billion wagered, marking a 39.7% increase from September 2022's $1.26 billion and a substantial 58.6% surge from August 2023's $1.11 billion. The September figures represent the highest monthly betting activity since March when $1.79 billion was wagered in New York.

FanDuel, owned by Flutter Entertainment, continued to lead the market in terms of revenue, reporting gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $76.9 million for September. The platform also processed $682.5 million in mobile wagers.

DraftKings, FanDuel's long-time competitor, secured the second position with GGR of $61.4 million and a higher handle of $710.5 million, which was the highest in the state.

Caesars ranked third with $12.6 million in GGR and a handle of $174.0 million. BetMGM followed closely with $8.2 million in GGR generated from $100.7 million in mobile wagers. Rush Street Interactive also contributed to the market with $4.2 million in GGR from a handle of $50.1 million.

PointsBet, posting $1.6 million in GGR from $23.8 million in total bets, marked its last month of operation under the PointsBet brand after Fanatics Betting and Gaming completed the acquisition of its operations in New York and Wyoming.

Resorts World recorded $246,386 in GGR from $6.8 million in bets, while Wynn Interactive reported $366,842 in GGR from $10.9 million in wagers.

Bally Bet remained closed for the third consecutive month as the brand continues its efforts to enhance its offering in New York. Outsourcing its online and land-based sports betting tech stack, Bally Bet enlisted the services of sports betting supplier Kambi and PAM platform solution provider White Hat Gaming to assist in these improvements.
