OpenBet has launched its digital and retail technology with long-term partner Betfred Sports in Iowa. The technology provider's sports betting tech will be powering the operator's sportsbook at The Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Larchwood and supporting desktop and mobile apps.

According to a press release issued Wednesday, OpenBet’s digital technology will provide Betfred's customers with the "perfect omni-channel experience," allowing them to bet on their favorite sports across all channels, together with a variety of betting options including parlays, in-game wagering, teasers, futures, and player props.

The company described the Betfred Sportsbook situated inside the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort as a "state-of-the-art facility" spread across 3,500 sq. ft., that is now powered by OpenBet’s retail solutions, including betting counters and self-service kiosks.

Commenting on the launch, Cathryn Lai, Chief Commercial Officer at OpenBet, said: "We are delighted to once again be partnering with Betfred Sports, with our previous launches in Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania generating huge success."

"This deal is once again testament to our outstanding modular portfolio which is able to consistently meet the demands of the market, earning an accomplished reputation throughout the industry," she added. "Betfred Sports remains a valued partner of ours and we look forward to providing yet more exciting and responsible experiences for its players."

Bryan Bennett, COO at Betfred Sports, added: "OpenBet’s products and technology perform consistently across our existing locations, so naturally we entrusted the company to power our offering in Iowa. We first launched in Iowa in 2020, and we look forward to working with OpenBet to continue building on that success."

Both retail and digital product offerings are underpinned by OpenBet’s "robust and versatile" sports betting engine, which "consistently performs at the highest level by seamlessly processing a vast number of bets at scale," according to the tech provider.

As stated in the press release, this latest launch marks an important milestone for OpenBet and its continued U.S. partnership with Betfred Sports, providing the operator with the perfect platform to continue expanding into additional states.

Betfred had initially launched in Iowa with an Optima-powered product, though it used the technology of OpenBet owner Scientific Games elsewhere —OpenBet will be acquired by Endeavor Group Holdings this year—. Its launch in the state, in 2020, was the result of an agreement with Elite Casino Resorts, struck in July 2019.
