Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton announced it will offer sports betting at its new lounge, which opened Tuesday, February 1. In partnership with International Game Technology (IGT) and its PlaySports Technology platform, the Little Creek Sports Book is open on the main casino floor.

The new space features eight betting kiosks, 30 luxury lounge seats, eight 82-inch video screens and a 20-by-10 foot LED video wall.

Owned and operated by the Squaxin Island Tribe, the sportsbook is located 15 minutes from Olympia and is among the first tribal casinos in Washington state to offer sports betting. Located one hour from Seattle and Tacoma, it is home to the Salish Cliffs Golf Club, Seven Inlets Spa and Skookum Creek Event Center.

Sports betting became legal exclusively at 16 tribes’ casinos in September 2021. However, the situation might be about to change as a new federal lawsuit seeks to open the sports wagering game to the non-tribal gaming properties. In January, Maverick Gaming filed litigation against Washington state officials, accusing them of unlawfully granting Native American casinos a "discriminatory tribal gaming monopoly" over sports betting and other types of gambling.
