Genting UK announced Tuesday a £1.6m (USD 2 M) upgrade of Genting Casino Glasgow, which will see a complete revamp of one of the City’s most popular gaming venues.
There will be a complete overhaul of the casino’s gaming facilities, with an additional, smaller gaming room added to the facility. The extra space will see the casino add a further 20 top of the range slot machines and ten electronic gaming terminals to its offering.
In addition to this, the existing larger gaming area and the Mahjong room will be given a makeover with new lighting and carpeting throughout, which will create a brighter and more welcoming environment for guests.
The Hou Mei Chinese restaurant and the bar area will also be given a refresh with the addition of new Chinese themed furniture and décor providing guests with a warm and inviting place to enjoy the venues authentic Chinese food menus, including the popular Claypot and Steamboat menus, with food served by professional Chinese chefs. Guests will also be able to enjoy the bars wide variety of beverages, with a selection of drinks available to guests.
The three Karaoke rooms will be updated with colorful, Asian-style wallpaper. The casino will also see the addition of a new, City Centre Meeting Room, suitable for any business meetings.
In addition, general maintenance will take place throughout the casino, with the toilets, external signage and lighting being improved.

Work on the casino is currently underway and the casino will continue to operate as normal during the refurbishment. The work is scheduled to be complete at the end of November 2019, with relaunch events planned at Chinese New Year in January 2020.
