AMG’s Rubén Solórzano was satisfied with the number of visitors and told Yogonet that this year they are planning to go even further, by hosting a new event focused 100 percent on online gambling.

Minutes before the end of another edition of Perú Gaming Show (PGS), Yogonet spoke with one of its organizers. General Manager at Affiliated Marketing Group (AMG) Rubén Solórzano, who assured that the overall outcome of the event was positive and shared the first details of the company’s new project.

“Compared with last year, we extended the exhibition area —from 5,000 square meters to 7,000— and the number of visitors has been very good as well. Our records show that around 4,000 attendees were present between day 1 and day 2 of the event, even though the World Cup was taking place at the same time,” he said.

As far as 2019 is concerned, the show will be held June 19-20, and Solórzano was hopeful that for that time, Peru will have already passed the Online and Sports betting Act, which is currently waiting to be discussed in Congress or put forward by the Executive. If allowed, online gambling will become the unquestioned protagonist of PGS 2019, not only on the series of lectures but on the exhibition hall.

While all of this is taking place, AMG has decided not to sit and do nothing. Although a specific date and place have not been set yet, —Solórzano assured that will be held during within the first half of August this year— it has been confirmed that PGS organizers have decided to add one more event to the gambling industry’s calendar, the "Foro Internacional de Apuestas Deportivas y Online" (International Online and Sports Betting Forum)

As regards location, AMG’s general manager explained that they are still evaluating two different possibilities: the Jockey exhibition center or an important hotel in Lima.

"We would like that the authorities from countries that have already regulated online gambling —such as Colombia in Latin America— share their experiences with the local public: possible operators and suppliers interested in this market. We will also invite first-level companies that are already operating in this market segment. Depending on the response of the invitees, we will analyze the possibility of adding a commercial exhibition together with the Forum", he explained.

Within the next few weeks, this new space for debate will start taking shape. However, something is sure: Perú Gaming Show will again receive suppliers and operators on June 19-20, 2019 at the Jockey Exhibition Center in Lima.

Finally, he highlighted the relevance of the roundtable carried out on Wednesday morning, "Regulación de juegos sobre apuestas deportivas y online", Online and Sports Betting Regulation, moderated by Fredy Gamarra Elías, former president of the Cámara Nacional de Turismo (Canatur) Peru’s National Chamber of Turisim. Other relevant participants were Manuel San Román Benavente, general director of Casinos and Slots; Liliana Viveros, manager of Innovation and New Businesses at Coljuegos; Georges Didier, head of government relations and business development at GLI Latin America, and Santiago Asensi, founder of Asensi Abogados law firm.
