At least 27 mobile phones, two LCD TVs, two set top boxes, two laptops, one calculator, three registers and an iPhone 6 have been recovered, police said, adding that an FIR has been registered under Section 3 of the Public Gambling Act, 1867, The Indian Express reported.
The raid was part of a wider investigation against casino operators, who are believed to be involved in hawala transactions and are responsible for enabling betting of large amounts. Raids were also conducted in Goa, Delhi, Noida, and Kolkata.
Cash amounting to more than Rs two crore, unaccounted jewellery and foreign currency, has been seized during the raids, and evidence indicating unaccounted income amounting to over Rs 100 crore has been uncovered, claimed I-T officers.
“A case has been registered, and two people have been arrested. The items found in the house have also been seized,” Sudeep Kumar, SHO, DLF Phase-II police station, said.
