(Spain).- Seventeen companies have reached pre-agreements with Gran Scala promoters to select one of the ten casinos with which it plans to open this mega-leisure and gaming complex in 2012.

Gran Scala promoters, ILD international consortium, are in charge of the general infraestructura developments and the general urbanization of the land, but operators that will instal there will be the ones that will pay ro locate the business that Gran Scala will host, from casinos to hotels, restaurants, golf courses or theme parks, among others.

ILD commercializes the great land surface that it has acquired in Ontiñena (Huesca) and whose urban development depends on its legal support: the Law of Leisure Centers that the Aragon government is doing all the paperwork in the regional courts.

One of ILD directors, Jaume Riera, has explained that, until the law is not approved, it will be complicated to sign agreements with companies that decide to install business in Gran Scala. There are pre-agreements, letters of intent that guarantee a previous book of the soil.

According to Riera, pre-agreements totalize the 70 % of the soil that will be in the first phase of Gran Scala,  with which it plans to open in 2012. The great majority of the companies that have performed a previous book are foreign firms, according to Riera. He considers that it is something “normal” due to the characteristics of the project.

Of the 2,000 hectares that the complex may occupy, the first phase will count with 800. and ten casinos will be constructed, on top of several theme parks, hotels, restaurantes and other leisure services.

For those ten casino hotels, there are 17 companies that are candidates, that wish to buy the rights to install there with leisure centers. Jaime Riera considers that it shows the interest that Gran Scala project has arisen among international investors.

Although he is aware that some of the 17 firms may withdraw, “it also happens that, as time goes by, more companies will be willing to enter”. Besides, apart from those casinos, there are several hotel chains that have made contacts with ILD in order
to be able to install.

Riera assures that pre-agreements have also been signed for the development of  “camping-vip, a golf museum and several golf courses, a latest generation tridimentional agreement.

In the first phase, with which it plans to open in 2012, 7,255 million euros will be invested in Gran Scala. Of those, 485 will be brought by ILD in order to build the infraestructure. The rest will be brought by different operators that will be installed with the different gaming and leisure business.
