As the largest World Cup in history approaches without Chile in it, Tonybet's welcome offer for the country's new players is already running with a dedicated tournament programme to follow. In this article, the company shares details about the campaign.

When the 2026 World Cup kicks off in June, it will be the most expansive tournament in football history: 48 teams across three host nations, 104 matches, the United States, Canada and Mexico sharing the load for the first time. Forty-eight slots is a notable widening of the field – the previous expansion, from 24 to 32, dates back to 1998. The odds of an unexpected qualifier reaching it have rarely been better.

Chile won't be among them. La Roja's elimination from CONMEBOL qualifying – the third consecutive miss – means Chilean fans will watch this tournament as observers rather than participants. It's a familiar position by now, though no less strange for a country whose football culture still rests on the back-to-back Copa América wins of 2015 and 2016 and the golden generation that produced them.

What it does change is the way the tournament will be watched in Santiago, Valparaíso, Concepción. Without a national side to organise the calendar around, the 2026 World Cup becomes a neutral's tournament – a competition followed for the football rather than the nation. Chilean fans get to back outsiders, settle on dark horses, pay closer attention to tactics than to results. Argentina arrive as holders, with Lionel Messi expected in what would be his sixth and last World Cup. Brazil come in under Carlo Ancelotti, in his first tournament as a national-team manager.

There is plenty going on closer to home, too. Chile's domestic season runs through the tournament, and Wimbledon coincides with the World Cup's middle weekend. There is no team to lose sleep over, and a lot of sport to watch.

Tonybet is preparing a dedicated World Cup programme that will land in the lead-up to the tournament. Details will follow closer to the date. In the meantime, the welcome offer for new players in Chile is already running.

For sports bettors, it works simply. A first deposit attracts a 100% free-bet bonus up to 200,000 CLP, with a 5x turnover requirement at minimum odds of 1.5 on singles or 1.7 on multis. Seven days to clear it. The free bet itself, once awarded, must be placed on a multi of three or more selections.

The casino side runs in parallel. A first deposit attracts a 100% match up to 200,000 CLP with 100 free spins; the second deposit takes the package up to a combined ceiling of 275,000 CLP and 150 spins overall. Wagering on the casino bonus and any free-spin winnings is 30x.
