The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe will open a temporary casino facility this summer on its tribal reservation land in Leggett, East Texas.

The 24-hour facility will feature 300 electronic bingo machines, a 24-hour deli, a fountain drink station, a player’s club, and about 300 parking spaces.

“This temporary facility will provide a positive economic impact for Polk County, surrounding communities, and for the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe," Tribal Council Chairman Ricky Sylestine said. "The temporary casino will create 110 new jobs, strengthen local partnerships, and establish a foundation for long-term tourism growth."

The tribe will also hold a groundbreaking ceremony on June 18 for the future Naskila Casino Resort, which will be built across from the temporary casino site.

The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe currently owns and operates Naskila Casino and the Ischoopa Travel Center on its reservation land along U.S. Highway 190, Park Road 56 between Livingston and Woodville.

Since opening in 2016, Naskila Casino has offered Class II bingo machines, smoking and non-smoking gaming areas, Timbers Grille Restaurant, Café Itto Si, a player’s club, fountain drink stations, and a gift shop.

The Ischoopa Travel Center includes a 12-bay fuel station with diesel service, a convenience store, a 24-hour deli, and 81 Class II bingo machines.
