Construction delays reportedly putting Wynn Al Marjan Island opening date under consideration

Ongoing conflict in the Middle East has reportedly prompted Wynn Resorts Ltd to consider delaying the opening of its US$5.1 billion Wynn Al Marjan Island resort in the United Arab Emirates, amid construction disruptions and supply chain concerns.

According to a Bloomberg report, the company is assessing a possible postponement due to delays affecting construction activity connected to the regional conflict.

Wynn said in mid-March that construction work in Ras Al Khaimah had resumed after a brief pause. The company also said it was reviewing the status of construction materials awaiting delivery while exploring alternative ports for sourcing shipments.

Wynn Al Marjan Island is being developed across more than 60 hectares in Ras Al Khaimah. Once operational, the integrated resort is expected to include 1,217 resort rooms and 297 Enclave suites, along with two Royal Apartments, four Garden Townhomes, and 10 Marina Estates.

The project’s hospitality and entertainment facilities are planned to include 22 restaurants, lounges and bars, a beach club, a spa and beauty destination, and a skylit shopping parterre featuring “the world’s most venerable international luxury brands.”

The resort plans also include Coral Court, a venue designed for celebrations and events, and The Showroom theater experience.

Additional amenities are set to feature 12 pools, a 420-meter white-sand beach, and a deep-water marina intended to accommodate superyachts from international markets.
