Rio Hotel & Casino has appointed Rod Turlan as president and general manager, signaling a major step in its ongoing redevelopment under Dreamscape Companies.

Turlan, who brings decades of experience from Caesars Entertainment, will oversee all operations at the resort, including strategic growth initiatives and the continued redevelopment of the property. His role will focus on enhancing guest experiences, strengthening team culture, and integrating new amenities as part of Rio’s evolution.

The leadership change is part of a broader strategic overhaul led by Dreamscape, which has been investing in renovated suites, updated casino offerings, and expanded entertainment options.

In addition to Turlan’s appointment, Rio Hotel & Casino has introduced several key executives, including Lori Ware as chief financial officer with experience from Jamul Casino Resort, Ashley Lowe as senior vice president of sales following her role at M Resort Spa Casino, a property of PENN Entertainment, and Vince Lentini as senior vice president of marketing, previously with Margaritaville at Sea.

According to Eric Birnbaum, CEO of Dreamscape Retail & Entertainment and part-owner of the property, the appointments highlight the company’s continued investment in restoring Rio as a premier Las Vegas destination.

Now operating under the Destination by Hyatt umbrella, Rio is being reimagined as a suite-focused resort with more than 1,500 newly remodeled rooms. Located just off the Las Vegas Strip on Flamingo Road, the property blends its signature Carnival-inspired identity with upgraded accommodations, expanded gaming, and a growing events lineup.

The resort is targeting a broad audience, from families and group travelers to long-stay visitors seeking more spacious lodging options. Amenities such as free parking and convenient access to major attractions further enhance its appeal.

As part of its transformation, Rio Hotel & Casino has introduced several new dining venues, including Tacos Del Rio for casual, quick-service options, High Steaks Vegas led by chef James Trees offering a modern steakhouse experience, and Eggslut, a popular gourmet concept known for its elevated breakfast dishes. These join existing outlets such as Luckley Tavern & Grill and lounges like Voodoo Lounge, creating a diverse food and beverage lineup designed to attract both tourists and locals.
