Playson expands Egyptian-themed game family with launch of 4 Scarab Coins: Hold and Win

Playson has released 4 Scarab Coins: Hold and Win, a new Egyptian-themed game that marks the return of the Cleopatra character. The slot introduces additional bonus mechanics and higher jackpot thresholds while retaining the core structure of earlier titles in the game family.

The new release runs on a 5x3 layout and builds around a system of colored Scarab Coins that determine how features are triggered. Up to four Scarab Coins can land on the reels during regular play, alongside standard symbols and coin values.

The Hold and Win Bonus Game is central to the design, activated when violet, red, or blue Scarab Coins align with matching Scarab Pots above the reels. The combination of these colors determines which feature is introduced during the bonus round.

One of the additions is the Mystic Feature, linked to Red Scarab Coins. When triggered, each coin expands the grid by six extra cells, which can be filled with either standard coin values or Jackpot Coins. This effectively increases the number of positions available within the bonus round.

The Multi Feature is tied to Violet Scarab Coins and applies multipliers of up to 5x. These can either be placed in empty positions or used to increase existing multipliers already present on the grid.

Blue Scarab Coins activate the Collect Feature, which consolidates the value of all visible symbols on the screen. This includes any multipliers attached to Coins, Jackpot Coins, or other Scarab Coins, combining them into a single payout value.

A separate bonus layer is introduced through the Royal Bonus Game, triggered by landing a Royal Scarab Coin during the base game. This expands the grid to a 5x5 format and allows one or more of the three features to run simultaneously.

Within this round, a Royal Pyramid mechanic adds additional Scarab Coins until six are present. Each new coin either introduces a new feature or strengthens an existing one, altering the progression of the bonus sequence.

Jackpots are integrated across both bonus formats. Filling all 15 positions in the standard Bonus Game awards a Grand Jackpot valued at 3,000 times the stake. Completing all 25 positions in the Royal Bonus Game unlocks a Royal Jackpot set at 10,000 times the stake.

The game also includes a Golden Pot trigger within both bonus rounds. When activated, it converts into one of the three Scarab Coin types, either initiating an additional feature or enhancing those already active.
