Major League Soccer (MLS) has announced a new multi-year partnership with prediction market Polymarket, naming the company an official partner of MLS and an official partner of Leagues Cup in the United States.

The league will introduce prediction market-driven content across its digital platforms through the partnership, signed between Polymarket and Soccer United Marketing (SUM), the commercial arm of MLS.

Under the deal, Polymarket becomes the official and exclusive prediction market partner of MLS, the MLS All-Star Game, MLS Cup presented by Audi, and Leagues Cup.

The arrangement places Polymarket within MLS-owned digital environments, where prediction market data will be incorporated into fan-facing content. MLS and Polymarket plan to collaborate on products designed for live match viewing and second-screen use, drawing on real-time collective fan sentiment connected to matches, moments, and season-long storylines across MLS and Leagues Cup platforms.

“As soccer’s audience continues to grow and evolve in the U.S., fans are looking for new ways to engage more deeply with the game,” said Shayne Coplan, Founder and CEO of Polymarket. “Through our partnership with MLS and Leagues Cup, we can surface real-time collective sentiment around key moments, matches, and season-long storylines, giving fans a more interactive, data-driven way to experience the game and engage with the world’s most popular sport.”

SUM said the partnership aligns with ongoing efforts to introduce new digital formats within league properties, with prediction markets serving as an additional engagement option for supporters following games and tournaments.

“As MLS continues to grow, innovation remains central to how we engage fans and evolve the league,” said Gary Stevenson, MLS Deputy Commissioner and President of Soccer United Marketing. “Partnering with Polymarket allows us to integrate prediction markets as a new fan engagement format and position MLS as an early leader among global soccer properties.”

The partnership includes safeguards related to match integrity. These measures involve independent monitoring of trading activity and coordination between MLS, Leagues Cup, and Polymarket regarding markets offered on league competitions, the partners said.

The announcement comes during a period of increasing attention on professional soccer in North America ahead of the FIFA World Cup in 2026, which will be hosted in the region. MLS and Leagues Cup are preparing for increased visibility during this period, with digital initiatives forming part of league-level fan engagement planning.
