California's Sky River Casino is making property-wide upgrades as part of plans to expand into a full-scale resort destination.

The casino briefly closed Tuesday morning to complete scheduled electrical upgrades needed to support future improvements, FOX40 News reported. The property reopened at noon the same day. A spokesperson said the work is part of ongoing efforts to modernize the facility while limiting disruption to guests.

Among the near-term projects is the construction of a 1,600-space parking garage, along with an enhanced valet service and a new porte cochere. Those additions are scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026. The expansion will also add 312 slot machines, bringing the total number on the gaming floor to 2,500.

Casino officials said electrical upgrades are currently underway as part of planned enhancements across the property.

Looking ahead, Sky River Casino plans to debut an upscale resort experience in late 2027. The development is expected to include a 300-room hotel, an outdoor pool, a day spa, a multi-use event and entertainment space, an expanded gaming floor, and additional high-limit and VIP gaming options.
