Arizona sportsbooks broke the state record for sports betting handle in October, taking in $967.1 million, surpassing the previous record of $897.6 million set in November 2024, according to figures released Tuesday by the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG).
Sportsbooks retained 8.6% of handle, generating $83.0 million in gross gaming revenue, falling short of the November 2024 record by $3.3 million. Operators gave out $30.4 million in free bets, leaving $51.6 million in taxable revenue, generating $5.2 million in state tax.
Since sports betting launched in Arizona on September 9, 2021, residents have wagered $29.65 billion, including $7.34 billion in 2025 alone. Total sportsbook revenue in the first ten months of 2025 reached $665.7 million.
The results place Arizona sixth nationally in October handle, narrowly behind Pennsylvania by $1.4 million. October was already a record month nationwide for sports betting, though November could surpass it once all states report their totals.
Other states reporting November results, including Indiana, Ohio, and New York, have already set new records for handle and revenue. Analysts suggest Arizona may see its first $1 billion handle month and possibly exceed $100 million in revenue when November figures are released. To date, only New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Illinois, and Ohio have hit the $1 billion monthly mark.
FanDuel reclaimed the top spot for handle in October with $317.1 million, ahead of DraftKings’ $293.7 million. In revenue, the positions reversed, with DraftKings collecting $28.8 million versus FanDuel’s $26.2 million, after FanDuel led in September.
BetMGM remained third in handle, followed by Fanatics and Bet365, with all three maintaining their respective positions in revenue rankings.
