Galaxy Entertainment Group will pay a discretionary bonus equivalent to one month of salary to eligible employees on February 9, 2026, ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday, the Macau casino operator announced on Wednesday.
The bonus will apply to staff at senior manager grade or below and will cover around 97% of the workforce. The payment will include one month of base salary and guaranteed tips, if applicable, according to the company.
“The discretionary bonus equivalent to one month of base salary and guaranteed tips – if applicable – will be granted to all eligible team members on February 9, 2026,” the operator confirmed.
Galaxy Entertainment indicated the bonus is being awarded in appreciation of employees’ “hard work and contribution” during 2025.
The group is the first among Macau’s six gaming concessionaires to publicly announce a staff bonus linked to work completed in 2025. All six operators had confirmed salary increases for 2025 and some form of special payment for staff in relation to work carried out in 2024.
The timing of the payment comes ahead of the Chinese New Year period, which is traditionally one of the busiest seasons for Macau’s gaming and hospitality industry. Macau’s official public holiday for the lunar new year runs from February 17 to 19 this year.
In mainland China, the Chinese New Year holiday extends for nine days, from February 15 to 23, as designated by the State Council, typically driving increased travel and tourism flows to the casino hub.
