With operators preparing seasonal promotions, PowerPlay is rolling out PowerTree Domination, a Christmas campaign that offers daily rewards by having users decorate a virtual tree over the course of December.
The experience will be available from December 1 to 26 for players in Ontario.
Participants drag and drop a new ornament onto a black steel Christmas tree each day. When placed, the ornament reveals an item such as free spins on games, bonus credits, or other prizes. The tree illuminates gradually as more ornaments are added.
“We didn't want a December campaign that blends into the sea of jingles and snowflakes,” said Thomas Vermeulen, Marketing Director at PowerPlay. “PowerTree Domination is bold and confident, giving players something to build while still tying into the holiday season. We want our players to feel in control, building rather than just opening.”
The feature aims to give users, including those unfamiliar with wagering, a familiar motion similar to decorating a physical tree or opening a traditional advent calendar. Each action opens a reward that introduces platform features and tracks progress through an on-screen energy bar.
Vermeulen noted that the company wanted to deliver a campaign with a distinct presentation during a period of high promotional activity.
