BOYLE Sports, Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker, has announced it will offer guaranteed job interviews to all Paddy Power retail staff impacted by the gambling giant’s upcoming store closures.
Paddy Power confirmed plans to shut 57 retail outlets across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, a move expected to affect 247 employees. In response, BOYLE Sports — which operates more than 390 shops across both markets — said it remains committed to the high street and is prepared to absorb affected workers into its expanding workforce.
The company currently has vacancies across a range of roles, including shop management, customer service, and operations.
BOYLE Sports, founded in 1982, noted that it continues to operate as a family-owned business with strong ties to local communities. The bookmaker is in the midst of a major investment programme, including a £100m (US$132m)-plus expansion in the UK that is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs over the next three years.
Jenna Boyle, Retail Director at BOYLE Sports, said the company is proud to be growing at a time when competitors are scaling back. “That’s why we’re offering any Paddy Power retail staff impacted by recent cuts the chance to join our team with a guaranteed interview,” Boyle said. “Our commitment to the UK and Ireland is long-term, and we’ll continue building a business that supports local people, local communities, and the industry as a whole.”
