The 2025 Gaming in Germany Conference will take place on Tuesday, November 11, at the DoubleTree Hilton Ku'damm in Berlin. Organizers have now revealed that an evaluation of the State Gambling Treaty will be one of the key topics of this edition.
The event will bring together operators, analysts, and legal experts to discuss the current state and future of Germany’s gambling market.
A key focus will be the evaluation of the 2021 State Gambling Treaty (GlüStV 2021), currently under review by Germany’s federal states. The final report, expected next year, is anticipated to shape the future of the country’s iGaming regulatory framework.
Early indications suggest that some long-requested changes, such as simplified game certification, may soon become a reality. While the industry is unlikely to see every reform it hopes for, experts expect the overall direction of regulatory development to move toward greater flexibility and modernization.
Willem van Oort, Founder of Gaming in Germany, commented: “This year's Gaming in Germany Conference is where important discussions will take place on which regulatory goals to pursue. Major stakeholders, including operators, trade associations, and the regulator, are all coming. I think this underscores the importance of our event.
"It is the only conference aimed at the German market where both domestic and international stakeholders show up to connect and share insights and information. If you want to help shape the conversation and meet key stakeholders, Berlin is the
place to be.”
Alongside regulatory updates, the conference will feature breakout sessions on data compliance, game certification, responsible gaming, live casino, and eSports. These sessions will be led by experts and designed to provide practical insights.
