The 2025 Gaming in Germany Conference has announced the addition of new speakers to the event's agenda. The event is set to bring together key figures from the regulatory and private sectors in Berlin to discuss market sustainability, competitive pressures, and the ongoing fight against unlicensed gambling operators.

The event will take place on November 11 at the DoubleTree Hilton Ku'damm, located 100 meters from Kurfürstendamm.

Sebastian Buchholz, Head of Licensing and Market Supervision at the Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL), will deliver the keynote address. The GGL continues to oversee licensing and compliance across Germany’s gambling market following the implementation of the 2021 State Gambling Treaty.

Representatives from major operators and trade associations are scheduled to take part in discussions on how licensed companies and regulators can improve the regulated iGaming environment. Confirmed speakers include Christian Heins, Director of iGaming at Tipico; Alex Green, Vice President of Games at ZEAL Network; and Ewout Keuleers, former General Counsel of Kindred Group.

German and European associations will also be represented. Among the confirmed participants are Dr. Dirk Quermann, President of Deutscher Online Casinoverband (DOCV); Mathias Dahms, President of Deutscher Sportwettenverband (DSWV); and Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA).

Willem van Oort, founder of Gaming in Germany, said this year’s conference topics “speak of the relevance of our event, and especially the key topics that we are highlighting this year: the threat of the black market and the evaluation of the 2021 State Gambling Treaty.”

He added: “I see that licensed operators are highly committed to making the German iGaming market more sustainable and competitive and I am very happy that we are trusted to play a role in promoting fruitful discussion and debate on these topics.”

“As the event takes place while the evaluation of the 2021 State Gambling Treaty is ongoing, this is certainly the time to be part of the conversation,” van Oort said.

The conference agenda includes breakout sessions on operational and compliance issues such as data protection, game certification, responsible gambling, live casino, and eSports. These sessions aim to provide participants with insights into technical and regulatory matters affecting Germany’s online gambling sector.

Networking opportunities will also be available through a pre-conference dinner, coffee breaks, lunch, and concluding networking drinks.

The full conference program, including the breakout agenda, is available online. Registration for the 2025 Gaming in Germany Conference is now open to industry professionals.
