Connecticut's Mohegan Sun opens new Sky Slot Tournament Zone

Connecticut's Mohegan Sun has unveiled its Sky Slot Tournament Zone, a new space located near the Cabaret Theatre, informed by the rising popularity of slot tournaments.

The new zone features over 40 IGT games, including Wheel of Fortune, Hex Breaker, Cleopatra, and Stinkin’ Rich, that switch between tournament mode and regular play.

The zone offers a dedicated space for Momentum members to compete in slot tournaments, which often feature prize pools up to $50,000. Mohegan Sun is also offering a hotel package with $50 in free slot play to celebrate the launch.

“This new slot lounge in Casino of the Sky, featuring 40+ IGT games, and featured currently on BackofHouse.TV, is now the central hub for our popular slot tournaments held year-round,” said Jeff Hamilton, President & GM of Mohegan Sun. “Mohegan Sun is an industry leader when it comes to loyalty perks, and our frequent, high-energy slot tournaments certainly help take the Momentum experience to the next level.”

The next tournament at the Sky Slot Tournament Zone is 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, part of the $15,000 Veteran’s Day Slot Tournament. Momentum guests can register on-site or at Tournament Zone kiosks.

During slot tournaments, participants are randomly assigned to slot machines and are given unlimited spins for a certain amount of time. Players win points as they hit winning combinations or bonuses on the reels, and the more spins completed within the set time, the greater the chances are to enhance the total score.

The scores for all the rounds of tournament play are totaled to determine the overall tournament rankings.
