Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has released three new modules and an updated version of an existing module for its Gaming Security Framework (GLI-GSF), expanding the industry’s first dedicated cybersecurity standard for gaming.
The new releases include Module 3: Vendor Controls, Module 4: Land-based Gaming Controls, and Module 5: Online Gaming Controls. GLI also updated Module 1: Common Controls to version 1.1. The framework is designed to provide a standardized approach to cybersecurity across gaming operations, both physical and digital.
“Cybersecurity is a constant threat to gaming operations, and cybersecurity insurance has costs that are constantly rising,” said James Maida, GLI President and CEO. “The Gaming Security Framework addresses these concerns and fills in what was a large and dangerous gap in cybersecurity for the gaming industry, because before its release, there was no direct cybersecurity standard for gaming.”
“What GLI is doing with the Gaming Security Framework is to answer the concerns of regulators, operators, suppliers, and players worldwide,” he said.
Each module of the GLI-GSF incorporates industry best practices and is updated based on stakeholder feedback. The framework, developed through collaboration with thousands of gaming industry participants, provides baseline security guidelines that regulators can adopt and gaming operators can use to strengthen their defenses.
The framework offers comprehensive guidance for enhancing security across all aspects of gaming operations, helping organizations save both time and cost while improving protection against cyber threats.
