Global Gaming Women has honored two International Game Technology (IGT) executives in its 2025 awards program, recognizing their professional contributions and leadership in the gaming sector.
Karin Bernkopf, Vice President of US Gaming Marketing, Global Creative Services and Licensing at IGT, received the “Patty Becker Pay it Forward Award.”
Michelle Schenk, the company’s Director of Global Communications, was named one of “10 Women Rising in Gaming,” a recognition presented by GGW in partnership with CDC Gaming.
“Global Gaming Women is thrilled to honor Karin Bernkopf with the ‘Patty Becker Pay it Forward Award’ and recognize Michelle Schenk as one of ‘10 Women Rising in Gaming,'" said Lauren Bates, GGW President. “The recipients in each award program represent GGW’s values and propel its vision of advancing women in the gaming industry. We look forward to celebrating all the honorees of both programs at special events in October.”
Bernkopf has more than 20 years of experience in gaming marketing and has overseen multiple campaigns and branding initiatives for IGT. She also chairs GGW’s Mentorship Committee, which supports programs such as One Up One Down, designed to support career growth, and Lean-In Circles, which provide spaces for professional development. Before joining IGT, she worked in marketing roles at Caesars Entertainment and Walgreens.
Meanwhile, Schenk has worked in both operator and supplier segments of the industry, guiding communications and public relations strategies for B2B and B2C audiences. At IGT, she has led media campaigns that have secured national coverage for the company’s slot products. Her previous experience includes roles at Caesars Entertainment and a Las Vegas-based marketing agency with casino-resort clients.

“IGT congratulates Karin Bernkopf and Michelle Schenk on being recognized by Global Gaming Women for their outstanding achievements in the gaming industry,” said Nick Khin, IGT CEO Gaming. “These accolades reflect Karin and Michelle's dedication and leadership at IGT, in the community, and beyond, and we celebrate their commitment to paving the way for future leaders in gaming.”
