Game data platform GRID has acquired the intellectual property assets of B2B esports data company Bayes Esports, following Bayes’ recent insolvency filing. The assets acquired include live data trading solutions, prediction models, and fan engagement tools developed by Bayes over the last decade.
The acquisition will see Bayes’ assets integrated into GRID Bet, the company’s regulated esports betting solution. GRID Bet uses real-time data to deliver more accurate odds, faster bet settlements, and enhanced market coverage for operators and fans.
“We are bringing Bayes’ models and fan-facing solutions into the GRID data platform, where they will gain additional value when powered by official data,” Moritz Maurer, Founder & CEO of GRID, told SiGMA News. “By combining these assets with our core expertise, we can accelerate product development and address operator demands more effectively.”
The deal is expected to give GRID faster updates, deeper analytics, and stronger data security. With the esports betting market expected to reach $2.8 billion in gross gaming revenue by 2025, GRID aims to capture a major share by consolidating key esports data into a single platform.
The move comes amid GRID’s ongoing expansion in the esports betting sector. In October 2024, it secured a multi-year deal with BLAST to add data from BLAST’s Counter-Strike and Dota 2 tournaments to its platform.
Alongside partnerships with major tournament organizers, GRID has been steadily broadening its product portfolio. In June, the company launched GRID Insights, an AI-powered analytics tool that generates real-time insights and integrates them into esports broadcasts, offering viewers deeper context during live matches.
As for Bayes Esports, the Berlin-based company filed for bankruptcy in May 2025 and commenced insolvency procedures in August 2025. The Charlottenburg district court ruled the company was out of cash and deeply in debt, leading Bayes to cut back on staff, leaving a tiny group to oversee asset transactions and help impacted workers.
